Biography

Sonique is a real dance music force, both as a selector in the DJ booth but also as a vocalist and producer. She has an emotive singing style that makes for spine tingling atmospheres, and when DJing she is just as electrifying. Crowds all over the world who have danced to her on point sets will attest to that, as she has played in more than forty countries and was an esteemed resident at legendary Ibiza club Manumission for a number of seasons, as well as regularly headlining Cream and Gatecrasher amongst others.

In all, Sonique has been behind a number of powerful dance tracks that have also made an impact in the charts. First of all she shot to fame as part of S Express in the 1980s and had a number of Top 40 successes. After that and going solo she won Best Female at the 2001 Brits and won International Hit of the Year for It Feels So Good, which came on her number one album Hear Me Cry. Hits like I Put A Spell On You also came from that album and there have been many more since over the course of four solo albums and 13 singles. Sonique has also worked with stars like Josh Wink and William Orbit and keeps up her great hit rate with each new release. These include more recently: What You’re Doin, I’m Gonna Make It and Carry on, with Paul Morell, Sefanos Dimosthenous and DJ Johnny Gerontakis respectively. As such, Sonique is still very much in demand and very much at the forefront of the scene.
