Versatile and prolific, Kideko’s discography includes several solo hits, along with collaborations and high profile remixes for artists such as Sonny Fodera, The Magician, Friend Within and Disciples. Every step of the way his intuitive, club focused approach has won him support from some of the most influential tastemakers and selectors in electronic music. Regular spins on Radio 1 and backing from the likes of Pete Tong, Mistajam, Annie Mac and Danny Howard showcasing his music to a huge global audience. Being a Brighton boy, Kideko’s early inspirations include local hero Fatboy Slim, one of the first DJs he saw as a youngster and still a key influence. Norman’s ability to rock the party left a deep impression on young Ryan. At the heart of his musical ethos is the carefree feeling you experience when you’re immersed in the party; hands in the air, lost in the moment and dancing with wild abandon. For Kideko it’s all about leaving your troubles at the door, letting loose and having unbridled fun. His music is designed to encourage those life affirming moments where the energy of the crowd is united as one and bubbling with positivity.

For Kideko, making music is a daily practice. If he’s not in the studio, he’s sketching out ideas on his laptop, or out on the road testing a fresh batch of weapons grade material. He started out drumming in bands before he began his love affair with electronic music and percussion remains intrinsic to his productions, with hefty kicks and razor sharp snares giving his tunes their propulsive power. Rhythm is key as he dips into Latin flavours and tribalesque cadency, keeping the beats pumped with plenty of swing. With a natural ear for rhythm and melody, combined with an open minded approach, he is a formidable producer. His deft touch and ability to create authentic club music with crossover appeal has led to appearances on labels like Ministry of Sound, Spinnin’ Deep and Positiva, while he’s still very much connected to the underground with outings on Sonny Fodera’s Solotoko, Toolro
om, Cr2, Rinse and Gorgon City’s label Realm.

Kideko’s debut single ‘The Jam’ was picked up by YouTube giants SubSoul in 2015, catapulting him into the limelight with millions of views. This was followed by ‘Crank It (Woah!)’ with George Kwali, featuring Nadia Rose and Sweetie Irie, in 2016. The track was selected by Annie Mac as her ‘Hottest Record’ and played by an all star list of top flight selectors, including Norman Cook at Glastonbury, which he considers to be a career highlight. In 2017 he collaborated with Friend Within to produce ‘Burnin’ Up’, which was followed by ‘Dum Dum’ with Tinie Tempah and Becky G. Two years later he released his first single with Toolroom, a label he’s idolised since he first got into electronic music. The track, ‘Give It Up’, encapsulates Kideko’s intuitive approach to music, combining catchy, emotive vocals with a smooth groove, crisp beats and slick production. Recent hits include ‘Around The World’ and ‘Gonna Be’ on Solotoko and his massive crossover cut ‘What Is It’
on Spinnin’ Deep plus summertime smash ‘Tribal Dance’ on Realm.

Kideko’s hometown, Brighton, has been intrinsic to his growth as an artist. Besides Fatboy Slim, he cites the town’s diverse culture as being pivotal to his development. Having the opportunity to experience so many facets of art, music and creativity has given him a firm foundation. He’s a playful and confident producer, cherry picking elements from different genres to construct his own unique sonic identity. Kideko’s eclectic upbringing means he is comfortable exploring a range of styles, while remaining anchored in his core sound. It’s something he does instinctively, without overthinking it. Life in Brighton also provides headspace, a key ingredient in the creative process for musicians. As a result he is prolific and full of ideas, spending most days working on new tunes, or tweaking existing ones.

Over the last five years Kideko has ticked a few dreams off his bucket list Fatboy Slim playing his music, releases on Toolroom, Radio 1 support and now he can add to that a collaboration with the mighty Armand Van Helden. Their link up, ‘The Fire’, epitomises Kideko’s affinity with the fun, party side of electronic music it’s got all the classic elements; emotive piano keys, uplifting vocals (including a Gwen McCrae sample) and positive vibes in abundance. One of those tunes that you’ll hear everywhere you go, on the radio, in the clubs and on the festival circuit.

Consistent, dynamic and a consummate pro, Kideko sets dance floors ablaze across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, holding his own whether it’s soulful grooves or bumpin’ piano driven anthems.
