Over the last few years, Mick Kastenholt, known by his stage name KAAZE , has become one of dance music’s most potent burgeoning stars. With a passion for crafting dynamic and energetic sounds, KAAZE’s inimitable and forward – thinking allure has sealed his position as an undeniable future star. It is also why, in 2024, he continues climbing his way to the peak of the electronic dance scene’s loftiest summit.

Hailing from Sweden, a hotbed for electronic music talent, KAAZE’s breakthrough came back in 2012 when Tiësto earmarked one of the Swede’s early productions. However, KAAZE’s journey into the world of music had begun long before this key career moment. As early as four years old, KAAZE started to play piano and drums, and unbekno wn to him at the time, he was igniting a love affair with music that would eventually help him establish himself as an artist in his own right.

By age 16, KAAZE’s musicality had led him to discover house music, where a love for DJing and electronic music was enflamed. Driven by a passion for melodic and progressive elements, KAAZE’s early productions transcended genres, blending infectious melodies with powerful drops. It was this initial sound in his repertoire of styles that kick – started his career, first with Tiësto and then with Hardwell , who picked up the young emerging star and signed KAAZE to his Revealed Recordings label in 2016 in what would become a long – running collaboration.

Fast forward a few years, KAAZE’s career had opened worldwide with global DJ dates littering his tour schedule, millions of streams on his music, and even breaking into the Top100DJs Poll at #83 . A collaboration with Steve Aoki and Grammy – nominated singer/songwriter John Martin for the single ‘Whole Again’, blew up 2022 for KAAZE, alongside a string of other release s and globe – trotting – tour dates, leading to the Helsingborg – born talent climbing up 13 places to #70 in that years Top100DJs Poll .

The following year, 2023, KAAZE would leap again to #59 in the world’s biggest publicly voted music poll after a series of career highs. One such milestone would be his second album, MICK , a release that showcases both KAAZE, the artist, and Mick, the person. Following this cathartic long – player release, KAAZE’s path began to carve out another direction with his sound. Comprised of a blend of techno, progressive, and electro elements, KAAZE revealed a more minimalist and reflective approach, going back to the earlier sounds of his productions with club music as the focus, rediscovering everything from the harder – edged sounds t o the structure of more poignant melodic and lyrically based tracks. This new path opened a new, yet familiar, foundation to broaden his creativity. Early iterations of this ‘new sound’ of KAAZE were his end of 2023 tracks like his pulsating remix of Calvin Harris & Sam Smith’s ‘Desire’, alongside long – time collaborator Steve Aoki , as well as his solo single ‘Last Call’ on Dim Mak Records and his full – tilt rework of Tiësto’s iconic anthem ‘Flight 643 ‘.

It doesn’t stop here, though. This year will see KAAZE stepping things up on and off the dance floor. With a remix forthcoming for David Guetta on ‘When We Were Young’ with Kim Petras , KAAZE also has collaborations with Tiësto, Steve Aoki, KSHMR and Hardwell . On the road in 2024, f ans can expect to see him gracing a slew of international club and festival dates in the coming months.

Having already slingshot his career to impressive highs over the past few years, KAAZE is far from summiting his own ambitions with his music; instead , he is meeting this next phase in his career with unbridled energy as he seeks to pursue new boundaries in his ever – evolving soundscape.
